These are some of the rave reviews that we have received about the amazing route.
“That was a great ride..probably one of the hardest days I’ve had in the saddle…..but so worth it. RRC moved to the top of my list of favorite rides. I plan on crushing it again next year!” – Craig L., 2013 Rider
“I really enjoyed the ride – super hard for me but very rewarding. I’m already spreading the word to get more of my friends to do it in 2014!” – George F., 2013 Rider
“I rode the century option and had a fun–but tough–ride. Compared to other rides, the RRC is more secluded, less people and a great route. I’d be back in a heart beat.” – John M., 2013 Rider
“Great ride. The support was much better this year than when I rode it two years ago- directions were clear, road help was visible, and stations were well stocked. Food was there at the end too, which was not the case two years when I finished. tough route, especially that brook forest/black mountain segment!” – Dan H.
“Very tough ride, well sign posted and a great group of people to ride with! Thanks.” – Elizabeth D.
“It was my first time riding the event. Although a little disorganized at the start, the event was great. The signage and directions were very good and the aid stations were well stacked and manned by friendly groups of volunteers. I did the century route and agree that the Brook Forest/Black Mountain climb was surprisingly difficult. I would definitely plan to participate again next year.” – Matthew O.
“This was also my first time doing the ride, actually it was my first road bike ride ever on my new bike! I really enjoyed the route itself. It was a beautiful ride. The brook forest/black mountain was tough but it was worth the long downhill afterwards! I was really happy to see so many support vehicles and police cars ensuring the route was safe. The aid stations were perfect and the people were extrememly nice. Thanks for a great first time experience with biking! I will definitely be signing up again next year.” – Jenny
“Awesome ride! Very well marked with great road help. The volunteers were wonderful and there was lots of healthy, tasty food at the aid stations. Sign up/registration had a few issues but everything else was perfect. Lunch from Wahoo’s made the day. I will definitely do this ride again and try to encourage more of my friends to join me.” – Terri
“My husband and I rode The Healing Wheels for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it. I like that the event is smaller and registration is limited, so there aren’t masses of inexperienced riders to dodge – we rode the Metric and for most of our ride we felt like we had the road completely to ourselves. The aid stations were well spaced along the route and well stocked. We really appreciated the police presence on the busier sections of the route. The route itself was fantastic – the climbs up Brook Forest and High Drive were challenging, and the countryside was absolutely beautiful. We’re so happy to have discovered some new roads to train on and enjoy. My only niggle is that Wahoo’s was not yet at the finish when we finished at 11:30, so no tacos for us. Despite that, Healing Wheels will definitely remain on our cycling calendar.” – Mandy
“First time riding this event. Thought the ride was great, the roads were well marked and as mentioned previously the police presence was nice. A couple of wats to improve for next year would be to provide a better map in the rider packet (the scale was too small to be useful), with an elevation profile and milepoints for the aid stations. Other than that I thought it was a well run event. The director of Inner City Medical Services, Kraig, was very helpful and even remembered our names from the previsous evenings registration at Bicycle Village. Will definitely be back. And yes, Brook Forrest road was tough!” – Steve C.
“It was my first time riding Healing Wheels. It was a great ride! Very well marked with great road help. The volunteers and aid stations were wonderful. I will participate next year. Thanks!” – Jan J.
“Outstanding ride! My second year doing it, and it was certainly more enjoyable without the freezing rain of 2010. I agree with the comments about Brook Forest/Black Mountain although I thought the Black Mountain Road segment was where the extreme challenge was for me. I enjoyed talking with volunteers at each aid station as well. This ride will continue to be in my annual plans.” – SM Ready to Ride
What an awesome ride! If you are tired of the huge 3,000 people bike tours and want a good challenge, this is the ride for you! The climbing was tough, the course well-marked and aid stations and volunteers were perfect. No frills, just a great event. I also HIGHLY recommend this event for anyone training for Triple Bypass or Deer Creek Challenge. The difficulty of this ride puts it right up there with the classics! I’ll be back next year! – Kathleen A.
I am a bit new to cycling and this was my first tour. It was definitely a challenge, but the support was wonderful and I really enjoyed it! I plan on doing Healing Wheels next year! – Maxine M.
